Products whose import or export is subject to special controls by authorities due to their nature, strategic value, impact on health, security, or national competitiveness.
Sensitive goods are products whose import or export is subject to controls and special regulations stricter than those applied to ordinary merchandise. This classification responds to considerations of public health, national security, environmental protection, prevention of unfair trade practices, or domestic industry competitiveness.
Sensitive goods are subject to: estimated prices, sectorial importer registry, prior permits, specific non-tariff regulations, mandatory verification, and in some cases, 100% inspection by the authority.
The list of sensitive goods is constantly updated according to government trade and security policies. It is the responsibility of the importer and customs broker to identify whether their products fall into any sensitive goods category and comply with all additional requirements.
