Also known as: Intermodal shipping, Combined transport
A freight transport system using two or more different modes (maritime, ground, air, rail) with the same cargo unit without handling merchandise when changing modes.
Intermodal transport uses two or more transport modes (maritime, rail, road, air) to move goods in the same cargo unit (usually a container) without handling merchandise when changing modes. It differs from multimodal in that intermodal may involve multiple transport contracts (one per segment), while multimodal operates under a single contract and single responsible operator. In Mexico, the most common combination is maritime + rail or maritime + road.
Multimodal Transport
The movement of goods using at least two different modes of transport under a single contract and transport document.
LogisticsFCL (Full Container Load)

LogisticsOcean Freight
