An import quota allocation is the maximum volume or value of a product the Ministry of Economy permits importing during a set period. Quotas are assigned through public tender, direct allocation, or first-come-first-served. They apply to sensitive products such as agricultural goods, textiles, steel, and iron products. Applications are filed with the Ministry of Economy and require demonstrating the applicant is a registered importer with operational and financial capacity.
