Before registering for MVE filing, you need three things in place: an active RFC (Mexican tax ID), a current e.firma (FIEL) digital certificate issued by SAT, and active registration in the Padrón de Importadores. Foreign companies without a Mexican entity must work through a Mexican importer of record. If your e.firma is expired or about to expire, renew it first — the MVE cannot be signed without a valid certificate.
Platforms like Camtom can automate steps 4-7 via VUCEM's SOAP web services. The importer still provides their e.firma for signing, but all data entry, validation, and submission is handled automatically. This is strongly recommended for companies filing more than 10 MVEs per month.
