An international freight agent is a specialized intermediary organizing and coordinating merchandise transport between countries on behalf of importers and exporters. Services include quoting and contracting maritime, air, and ground freight, cargo consolidation and deconsolidation, issuing transport documents (BL, AWB), coordinating pickups and deliveries, shipment tracking, and cargo insurance management. In Mexico, freight agents must be registered with the Ministry of Communications and Transport.
