Request from the plant protection agency of the exporting country a phytosanitary certificate proving compliance with sanitary conditions.
File the phytosanitary import permit with SENASICA through VUCEM (Mexico's Single Window for Foreign Trade).
Deliver the phytosanitary certificate, import permit, and commercial invoice to the customs broker for clearance.
SENASICA personnel will perform physical and documentary inspection of the shipment at the point of entry.
If compliant, a release notice is issued. If non-compliant, the shipment may be detained, treated, or returned.
Non-compliance may result in shipment detention, mandatory quarantine treatment, return to country of origin, or product destruction. Fines range from 1,000 to 75,000 UMA depending on severity.
