Register your company as a food importer with COFEPRIS.

Prepare Mexican labeling

Design labels compliant with NOM-051-SCFI including warning seals, nutrition facts, and importer information in Spanish.

Tariff classification

Classify based on composition and type of processed food.

Verify RRNA

Check if the product requires additional non-tariff regulatory restrictions.

Sanitary inspection

COFEPRIS may verify compliance at customs.

Customs clearance

Complete the import process with payment of duties and taxes.

Common duty rates

Tariffs vary from 0% to 20% depending on the food type. Products with sugar may pay additional IEPS. With FTAs, many products pay 0%.
