The process of presenting the validated customs declaration and goods at the customs module to activate the automated selection mechanism and determine whether a physical inspection is required.
Customs modulation is the formal act where the customs broker presents the validated and paid pedimento at the corresponding customs module. At this point, the automated selection mechanism (traffic light system) randomly determines whether the goods will undergo physical inspection (red) or be released directly (green). This step is mandatory for completing customs clearance of any foreign trade operation in Mexico.
