Customs broker authorization (encargo conferido) is the electronic mandate an importer registers with SAT to designate a specific customs broker as their legal representative for goods clearance. It is processed through the VUCEM portal and remains valid indefinitely until the importer revokes it. Without this authorization, the customs broker cannot act on the importer's behalf. Importers can authorize multiple customs brokers simultaneously, and a broker can receive authorization from multiple importers.
