A customs clearance modality in which goods can be inspected and released directly at the importer's or exporter's premises, without the need to transfer them to the customs bonded area.
Home delivery clearance (despacho a domicilio) is an administrative facility that allows customs inspection of goods to take place at the importer's or exporter's premises, rather than at the customs bonded area. This significantly streamlines foreign trade operations, reducing wait times, storage costs, and handling fees.
Home delivery clearance requires prior authorization from SAT's General Customs Administration. It only applies to companies meeting specific requirements for security, inventory control, and facilities for customs inspection.
This modality is especially used by IMMEX program companies, AEO-certified companies (Authorized Economic Operator), and large importers with adequate infrastructure to host customs verifiers at their own facilities.
