  • NOM-142-SSA1 — Alcoholic beverages
  • NOM-199-SCFI — Commercial information for alcoholic beverages
  • Certificate of origin (Chile, EU, etc. per treaty)
  • Spanish labeling with alcohol content

Important notes

Red wine has a 20% duty plus 26.5% IEPS (alcoholic beverage over 14° G.L.) or 30% (if over 20° G.L., rare for wines). For wines between 14° and 20° G.L., IEPS is 30%. SAT tax stamps, COFEPRIS permit, and NOM labeling are required. Chilean wines have 0% duty under the Mexico-Chile FTA. EU wines may have preference under EU-Mexico FTA.
