Chapter 18 covers cocoa beans, cocoa butter, cocoa powder, chocolate, and other food preparations containing cocoa. Mexico is the historical origin of cocoa but imports large volumes of chocolate and cocoa preparations. Chocolate products must comply with NOM-186-SSA1 and carry nutritional warning seals.
