Chapter 01

Live animals

Chapter 01 of the Harmonized System covers live animals of all species, including horses, cattle, swine, sheep, goats, poultry, and other live animals. Imports require zoosanitary certificates issued by SENASICA and must comply with strict quarantine regulations. Mexico maintains rigorous sanitary controls to protect national animal health.
