Chapter 99
Chapter 99 contains supplementary special provisions of Mexico's TIGIE. It includes headings for goods subject to safeguard measures, general countervailing duties, retaliatory tariffs, and other extraordinary trade measures. It also includes temporary provisions for emergencies.
Variable
Actual rates depend on the specific tariff heading, country of origin, and applicable trade agreements (USMCA, EU-Mexico FTA, CPTPP, etc.).
Chapter 99 headings are activated by presidential decrees or SE resolutions. Tariffs can be very high (up to 50% or more) as trade protection measures. These are temporary provisions that change frequently. Always consult the current TIGIE version.
